How do we "share" a sticky?
« Thread started on: Sep 15th, 2010, 09:18am »
Hi! We use Stickies at my workplace and we think it's great. Recently we learned how to send stickies to eachother and a question have come up regarding that. We want to sort of "share" a sticky so we all can change it. The way we do it today is that one of us makes a new sticky, and sends it to the rest of the group. If someone then edits it that person have to send it back to everyone again and we all have to close the original sticky and replace it with the new, updated sticky. There's probably a much more simple way to do this.
I have tried to install StickiesServer but I don't know how it works or if i actually need it.
Could someone please explain to me, in a way that a novice could understand, how we do this?

Sorry, this isn't possible with the app at the moment.
I say at the moment, because this is something I'd like to get working at some point - I've been asked about sync a number of times, and pairing Stickies with Dropbox makes really good sense as a way of keeping the same content on more than one machine. You could easily use the same code to a file on a shared network drive.
Anyway, the answer to your question is that you can't do that with Stickies, or Stickies Server (which is all about maintaining a central list of Friends)

I see. In no way are we dissapointed with the application. On the contrary, we think it's a great tool which helps ut a lot at our workplace. Hopefully we will be able to share stickies in the future. Til then, thanks for your work and your help with this question!
