Hello. I've worked with Sticki-Note from Tenebril before and this have one Feature that I found very useful. There are Scrollbars, that you can activate when you have more text then space.
I have many Stickies on my Desktop for Todo etc. and they have all a specified Position, Size and Order.
It would be a great thing, if I can resize your stickies in vertical and horizontal and activate Scrollbar.
Let me say Stickies is a great Programm and I recommended to many of my friends smiley

Thank you !

I have previously taken the view that scroll bars were not an absolute necessity, but lately I find that as I am using stickies for temporary storage of a lot of text, the text is disappearing irretrievably off the screen as it's actually too long for one sticky. So now, yes, let's have scrollbars, at least vertically.

Ok, here is something else cool about the stickies application. Go to the finder and navigate to Applications -> Stickies. Control click on Stickies and click Show Package Contents. Another Finder window will open up with a folder name Contents. Navigate to Contents -> Resources -> English.lproj -> StickiesDocument.nib. Double Click on StickiesDocument.nib (you'll need Xcode or the Developer Tools installed).

When you open up StickiesDocument.nib, you will see three items. These items are the Cocoa-Controls Panel, a window named Stickies, and the StickiesDocument.nib Panel. Click on the Window called Stickies and the

Optional vertical scrollbars would be great! Maybe you don't have to use the Windows scrollbars, but design an aesthetically pleasing one cheesy For instance - just have a thin strip on the right side with a darker box as the position marker that you can drag up and down. I think that would be not so obstrusive and yet functional.

Stickies is a wonderful program, but the inability to scroll is a major nuisance. I know it was probably not conceived of as a program that would handle long texts, but I frequently email articles to friends using Stickies, because it's email availability is easy and quick. I don't feel aesthetics should take precedence over functionality.

I can right-click and select all, and then copy it to notepad for editing, but what an inelegant thing to have to do.

It would also be very helpful if a sticky expanded according to the amount of text pasted.

Thanks so much for your consideration.

Or at the very least, it would be great to allow the vertical size to also be set (even w/o scrollbars). that way stickies can be sized to look nice on the desktop, regardless of content length.

Guest,

Are you aware that you can roll up your sticky?
Double click your Stickies title bar and your stickie should now only show just the title bar. If this does not work as described, look under options and set: Double click the title bar to: Rolls-up the Stickie. And try again.

Wanna know why Tom has been very silent on the scrollbar issue?
Well, I think he is secretly putting the final touches for this new feature to be incorporated into the next version of Stickies.
Stickies is an ever improving software and I am pretty sure he's ain't gonna sideline this feature.
Am I right, Tom?? wink

No, not on either count.

It's the other reason that I'm silent on scrollbars - I've got no plans to add them.

Ho hum, can't win 'em all eh?

Please, scrollbars!!!

This would make this great program absolutelly complete.

But I know why Tom doesn't want to add scrollbars.
He doesn't know how to or he's just to lazy... (just to keep you going wink)
