According to the Stickies Manager there are over 35 stickies.........on my desktop. My count is 6, where are all those naughty stickies hiding?

Right-click one in the Manage dialog which you can't see, and choose Properties. That will show you all the details about where it is.

Hi Tom
The Manage dialog doesn't give me the option to see stickie properties and because they are supposedly on my destop, I don't have the option of 'send to desktop' either

In the Desktop category inside the Manager, right-click one of the titles of your desktop stickies; "Properties" should be the option at the bottom of the right-click menu.

Inside Manager you should also see the contents of each of your desktop notes in the viewing pane located lower right. This should help you determine which notes are not showing on the desktop.

I also lose some of my notes on occasion...they will show up in the desktop inside Manager, but they will not actually appear on my desktop. My solution is to recreate such a note. I copy the contents of the note inside Manager, then paste the contents into a new sticky. Then I close the missing note inside Manager, give my new sticky the same title, etc.

Hi Cynthia
First of all thanks for your help. Now I want to make sure I haven't lost my mind completely. When I open the manage dialog and right click on a sticky, the options I have do not include properties. If I right click on the sticky title on top the last option is set color. If I right click on the body of the sticky the last option is 'paragraph.
I know I'm doing something stupid but I need you to make it clear.

Thanks
Bob

What version of Stickies are you using? Perhaps you need Stickies Version 8.0b? Be sure to back up before switching to Version 8. Version 8 available here.
http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/download.html

But even if you don't switch to Version 8, you should be able to view the contents of each of your desktop notes listed in Manager, and recreate those as I mentioned.

Now that I use Version 8, I've never had the missing note from the desktop problem again, and that is because I use stacks. Version 8 gives us the ability to create titled stacks (like folders) on the desktop, in which we can organize our blessed sticky notes. Stacks rock. Right now I have between 40 and 50 stickies on my desktop, but they will not get lost because I have them organized into stacks entitled, for example:
Banking, Business, To Do Lists, Hobbies, Odds & Ends
Voila, forty something notes stashed neatly away inside five stacks.

Now if you are interested in recreating some of those stickie notes missing from the desktop, you could try the following. Find one of the missing desktop notes inside Manager, right-click the body of the note and choose "Select All", right-click again and select "Copy". Now you can paste the content you copied into a brand new note. Once you've finished pasting into a new note all of the content, you can close the missing note inside Manager and give your new desktop note the same title if you wish. Now the note has be recreated.

Hope this helps.
