« Thread started on: Nov 30th, 2017, 1:41pm »

I'm getting new blank stickies being auto-opened. I can't find any concurrent activity that's kicking of this behavior. I reinstalled 9.0d, Skin=ileopard2.ssk, Windows 10, All Users access, no reminders/alarms set, What level logging is best for logging when a new sticky is opened and what might have triggered it? debug? Any suggestions appreciated. Tks Carl

Yes, set logging to Debug, and then in the activity.log file which gets written, any new note creation will have the reason for why it was created in (parentheses) on that line.

Set debug, wait until it happens, and then control-shift-g in a sticky will open the log file. Don't forget to set logging back to Off when you're done!

Found the issue… but not via the activity.log… I started looking at sticky.ini and options.ini. Found a few of the following in the current sticky.ini. So I did a search for them via Manage Stickies and deleted all of them. No more blank Stickies opened thus far.
I also noticed sticky <ID>131324F030824C from the stickie.ini file also located in the options.ini file following “ManageLocation’ but couldn’t find the field meaning or syntax in HELP. So can someone (Tom?) tell me if it’s an issue?
Thanks in advance,
Carl

(your post has been a little munged up by having < and > characters in it but I think I get the idea)

No, the <ID> in the options.ini is there to uniquely identify which set of Stickies data you're looking it, if that feature is ever necessary. It won't relate to anything else, and is generated as Stickies is run for the first time ever, and generates some blank data files.
