xx Another Request for Keyboard Accelerator Feature
« Thread started on: Oct 18th, 2016, 3:46pm »

I asked earlier about the ability to have Hot-Key support for highlighting - having keyboard accelerator access to the formatting menus would work too - just need some way to get to specific places in the menu tree without using a mouse - really, really want to be able to add highlighting color the same way I can add or remove strikethrough - styles don't seem to work (for me) and I am not good enough with AHK to do it that way.

PLEASE! smiley

It's not impossible to add - but what keyboard shortcuts would you suggest? We'd need six, really, to include "clear highlighting" as well?

Ideally it would be individually chooseable/configurable but for me, Ctrl-1 to Ctrl-6 with Ctrl-0 as NoHilite would be fine. Anything as long as I can get to the highlight function via keyboard - either 1 hotkey or a series of keyboard accelerators so I can use AHK to get the same effect.

Actually the solution already exists... almost. I mean, that if Tom would be so kind to add keyboard accelerators, a user could use the series {Shift}+{App} => {H}ighligts => {Y}ellow, {Shift}+{App} => {H}ighligts => {F}uchsia, {Shift}+{App} => {H}ighligts => {N}one etc.

The same "almost" solution is for text (font) color. A user can user the series {Shift}+{App} => {F}ont to call the submenu for font properties, but unfortunately commands for different colors have no their individual accelerators, as e.g. {R} for "red", {G} for "green" etc.
