It would be great if in the Manage Stickies dialog, the following features were added to the Sleeping Stickies section:

1. You are able to see the sleeping stickies in a Day/Week/Month/Year view and switch between those views.

I use sleeping stickies mainly to remind me of important meetings and deadilnes. Sometimes, I want to see my whole monthly schedule on one screen. This would be possible if there were a month view like Google Calendar's.

2. The time of when a sticky was made sleeping should be shown. Sometimes it is helpful.

ChessWriter - I'm not sure whether you might have something nasty on your machine. You've made a few posts today, and they've had a link inserted into them at the bottom. It's just spam, and I've removed the links as your posts are clearly genuine (unlike most posts with links in the signature) but you might like to run an AV check on your machine perhaps?

The time when a sticky was sent to sleep isn't recorded, so I can't show that, but I did write an API plugin for Stickies which displays upcoming sleeping and recurring notes. I never released it, but perhaps I should think about it again smiley

Thanks Tom. Thanks for letting me know. I have run two different antivirus scans but the problem has only decreased in intensity but not gone away completely.

It'd be great if you could release that API plugin. I am sure many people including me would find a lot of uses for it

Here it is, get it while it's hot, I'll remove it from the site soon, as once you release something, you end up having to support it, and so that's why this isn't released!

Before downloading it, please remember this:

o it's "as is" and won't ever get updated
o umm that's about it

I am looking to see whether I can work the functionality into the main Stickies app, so it might have life yet...

Thanks Tom,
This was exactly what I had wished for . Thanks.

However, it would be great if you could also Wake permanently, Wake a copy, Change the recurrence schedule or the Alarm time from ZCal itself. Currently, one can only see the sleeping and recurring stickies and not modify them in any way.

If that one feature is added, I think ZCal, to my untrained eye, looks releasable..Perhaps it can be embedded in the Manage Stickies dialogue itself...

I wonder what other secret weapons do you have in your arsenal ! smiley

Uh, so that bit about "this won't get updated ever" passed you by perhaps ;)

(this is why I say that once you release something you end up supporting it for ever!)

However, the good news is that I've been working the functionality into the main Stickies app this last week. No, I won't ever update ZCal, but there's no need as the 8.1 release with an much updated Manage dialog will have the calendar built in!

Seems you can close the Feature requests section of the forum. Whatever we suggest seems to be something you have already thought of !

The calendar view would be a Godsend, Yes !

When is likely to be out? I have so many uses waiting for it....

It will be released "when it's done"

It needs to be finished first, then needs a metric tonne of testing, and then documentation and then translation, and then finally can get out there.

Let's hope there are no good computer games released in the meanwhile which distract me, eh?

I am looking at this thread after a very long time. I find that you have included almost all my feature suggestions into v9. Thanks Tom !
