If I change the tab width to a custom size for example 10 only new stickies are affected... sad

No, I've seen that the application of a tab is more involved than that. Notice that tab width is manipulated in the Appearance tab of Options on the left side of the dialogue among style choices. We are given the freedom to associate tab width with a style. It's possible to establish ten styles, so it's possible to have ten different tab widths. I've tried this and it works.

But ... If you change the default style's (style 0) tab width, you will not see an older sticky enact that change UNLESS you tell it to via the command "Set to style 0" in the title bar right-click menu or using the shortcut style key - alt+0 - or using a style button on a skin. So ... even if the old sticky was originally set to default style (style 0), you must set it again to style 0 in order for the new tab width to take effect.

So that's good news. You can easily have what you want after a fashion by using styles.
