When you type [ plus ] Stickies would make (and still does) a great little to-do like check box.

Thing is - it now adds a SPACE in front of the checkbox. I know it's a small thing but it's really throwing me off. I use those things all the time and that space is weird and causes me some odd formatting when I do things like cut and paste to do lists around in my stickies.

To put things in perspective I am a fairly regular user and those are my go-to checkbox maker.

I guess my question is - can we have an option to not make that SPACE?

Thank you!!

I thought making that change would be helpful to everyone - it means that running in the problem of Wingdings bleed-over is much less likely.

However, I was wrong smiley

You're not the first person who's asked for this to go back to how it was, so it will have to be an option in a future version of Stickies. For now though, download this:

http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/stickiesNES.zip

It's got the option hard wired to "don't" instead of the hard wired "do" in the release version of the app.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH - the Wingding thingie.... ok that makes a alot of sense.

Really though, for me, as often as I use the checkboxes (all the time for nearly 10 years) I think I have seen the Wingding thing less than 100 times. Not too much considering the heavy use I get out of those checkboxes.

Overall though - this is probably one of the ONLY programs on my must install list. Great work and thanks for the update!

Just tested it out - THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!! So much better!

HAHAH

Glad you like it smiley The next (point) release of Stickies will add the extra space as an option which you can manually set in the options file, and when the UI next gets updated (which invalidates all the translations so I hold off on doing it) I'll add it as a checkbox to the Options dialog as well.

Hey Tom - I got the latest version of Stickies and it I can't seem to find the option that allows me to get rid of that extra space when I make check boxes. Am I missing it?

Hmmm, maybe there wasn't an update. If that's the case would you mind re-linking that file

http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/stickiesNES.zip

I tried to re-download it but no luck! CRYING! hahahaha

Have you tried Alt+c to create check boxes? Works for me.

Yep, that works awesome but sadly still puts a space in front of the box. I'm looking for the old version that did not add a space before the box.

Thanks for the Alt+c tip though - Didn't know that!

There's a debug-ish release here:

http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/stickies2.zip

That has an option for the space, on the Advanced tab. The build is OK to use as best I know, there have only been a few little changes/fixes.

Though I do notice that making a new stickie makes all stickies visible even though have the "Click on one stickie to make all visible" set to OFF.
