I'm very impressed with Stickies 7a, keep up the great work. I did notice a few areas that could be enhanced.

1. Every time I click on a Note and choose Sleep -> Recurring, the first option 'Daily' is always selected even if I've previously chose another option like Weekly. However, if I bring up the Manage Stickies dialog and double-click on the sticky, then it shows the proper settings.

2. When setting a sound to play for an Alert, it would be nice if you provided some default sounds.

3. When setting the Sleep mode for a sticky, I don't see the option that says to hide the sticky until the alert goes off. If there is such an option, where is it?

I may be confusing Sleep and Alert cause my intention is to always show the sticky and to have an alarm go off weekly.

4. I"m using Windows 7 and the program works fine. I was wondering if you'll be making any changes to the program so that 1) it can be pinned to the taskbar and 2), create appropiate jumplists?

When you set an alarm on a sticky, the sticky will stay on the desktop.

When you send a sticky to sleep, or to recurr, it will disappear from the desktop until that time you've selected.

That's why when you go to Recurr on a desktop sticky, there is no previous option to display, but when you open them in the Recurring category in Manage, they can show what you previously selected.

You can't set a recurring alarm in the app, just a recurring sleeping. My logic is that you don't need the sticky on screen annoying you all the time, just when you need reminding.

There are some default wavs on your system already, in c:\windows\media. Otherwise, just type "wav" into a search engine to be overwhelmed with the quantity you can find, if not the quality of those files smiley

Are the pinning and jump list features of W7 only for apps which have a task bar entry, not for those which live in the tray, like Stickies?

Would it be possible to add the following feature in the future: "When setting an alarm on a sticky, add recurring options"?

>> Are the pinning and jump list features of W7 only for apps which have a task bar entry, not for those which live in the tray, like Stickies?

I’m not an expert on Windows 7 apps but from what I've seen, when installing an application, most installers provide the option to place a shortcut on the Desktop and on the Start menu. In this case, for apps that are Windows 7 aware, I could right-click on the Desktop icon or Start menu item and select "Pin to Taskbar".

Jump Lists are a new Windows 7 only feature and provide common features and optionally previously opened/saved files/documents to be re-opened. Users can also 'Pin' recently opened documents.

As a bonus for jump lists in your program, you could have a list or a fly-out that lists the, say 10, last stickies created. A user would be able to click on a sticky and 'Pin' it and/or open/view it on the desktop.

If you were to look at Microsoft's "Sticky Notes' application which comes bundled with Windows 7, you'll see how they do 'Pinning' and 'Jump lists'...althought this app doesn't keep track of stickies that have been created, but your's should.

When I installed Stickies 7a, I didn't see any entry in the Start menu so I would like to see this change in a future build along with pinning to the taskbar and jump lists.

Windows 7 is coming this Thursday and if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend going to a store that has it installed on a PC/Laptop and take a look at it.
